Online In-Depth Course

Our innovative E-Learning CE course provides an in-depth study of the main injury prevention and ergonomics principles manual therapists need to know. You’ll learn to prevent injury in your own careers, and gain a better understanding of the risk factors your clients face in their work that create their symptoms. This knowledge will help you treat clients more effectively and enhance your practice.

Take this continuing education course completely online, on days and times that work best for your schedule. In a unique and fun learning environment, you’ll be able to interact with other students via an online forum, hold discussions and support each other as you learn. You can also ask questions directly to Rick and Lauriann, the co-authors of Save Your Hands! 2nd Edition, who will be available throughout the course for further insight and clarification as you need it.

Certified Save Your Hands!® Instructor Training
Qualified manual therapists can train to become Certified Save Your Hands!® Instructors and teach the Save Your Hands!® curriculum to massage therapy and bodywork professionals and students. With the best known name in injury prevention for manual therapists behind you, you will be able to help others in your profession protect themselves from injury while obtaining a valuable credential and creating a new source of income for yourself. As a Certified Save Your Hands!® Instructor, you can teach injury prevention as part of a school curriculum or school continuing education offerings, or set up independent workshops and seminars in your region. Spas and clinics are also looking for lead therapists with this qualification, who can coach their colleagues on injury prevention and body mechanics.

Becoming certified is a two step process:
1. Take the Online In-Depth Course on Injury Prevention and Ergonomics and pass the online exam;
2. Attend a weekend-long, hands-on workshop with Lauriann Greene and Richard Goggins, co-authors of Save Your Hands! 2nd Edition, and pass the practical exam at the end.

You will receive continuing eduction (CE) credits for both parts of the training.

Once you’re a Certified Instructor, we’ll provide a proprietary curriculum and other materials you’ll use when teaching. We’ll continue to provide support, including listing your contact information on our web site and referring you to potential employers, to help ensure your success.

Save Your Hands!® Workshops

Our workshops provide hands-on, practical techniques and tips to help manual healthcare students and professionals reduce fatigue and discomfort at school and work, prevent musculoskeletal injury, and extend their careers. Attendees learn to reduce the physical demands of their work on their own bodies while still providing a thorough hands-on treatment to their clients.

Combining lecture and discussion with plenty of hands-on practice, the workshops are taught in an informal style that encourages active participation. Attendees come away from the workshop with an excellent overview of ergonomics and injury prevention principles, and a self-care action plan including changes they will make to their practice based on what they have learned.

A schedule of workshops in different parts of the U.S. will be posted soon on this web site. Continuing education credits will be available for these workshops.

The co-authors of Save Your Hands! 2nd Edition and their associates also provide training sessions for schools, spas, practices, association chapters or healthcare facilities, for in-service trainings, continuing education programs, annual meetings/conferences, and more. Each training session is customized for the type of manual therapist, the nature of the facility and any specific circumstances you would like us to address.
